Supper On The Stones
Supper from my kitchentable
My homemade kitchen table.
An old barn door repurposed on Whitstable oyster posts, salvaged from the sea still covered in barnacles. Decorated with flints collected from kent beaches,
for restless folk, like me, to touch and pick up.
Gazing out at an ever changing landscape painting, outback, prairie, desert, beach, Dungeness.
Sit here and gaze a while.
Eat delicious food with friends or strangers.

“Delicious food at a unique home on the stones of Dungeness. We sat and ate roasted radish focaccia with baked ricotta outside looking across the vast nature reserve to the sea, shared chat with new acquaintances and had a visit from some of the wonderful wildlife. We ventured inside for locally landed Skate wings, granita palate cleansers and a pudding of dreams. An evening to remember.”

“Claire made the most gorgeous food for my special birthday celebration. We were a large group and everyone commented on how great the food was. She made the process fun and really relaxed. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Claire again for another occasion. Just to eat her food and hang out in her company is a joy”

“I had the pleasure of going to Claire’s home earlier this year. The food was superb, the ambience of the house was brilliant and such a wonderful location. And her Masterchef stories were SO interesting. Great Host. So much food I couldn’t eat the second dessert! I would very much like to attend supper on the stones and look forward to that with anticipation.
Well done Claire”

“Claire prepared a dinner for some of my very special friends, a reunion as I had not seen them for some time.Having given her some background she came up with a wonderful suggestion that also included a vegetarian option. Prepared in my open plan kitchen Claire orchestrated the meal with just the right amount of interaction with my guests and more than contributed to the overall success of the evening. Obviously the food was more than delicious, and the evening
a delight.”

Location
One of the most unique locations in the country
Dungeness is a unique and surreal landscape. The flat, shringle-strewn 468-acre estate is loomed over by a nuclear power station punctuated by a collection of weatherboard beach houses.

A cabin on the beach that’s my home
Inside you’ll find the original 1883 interior as a Lloyds signal station, discovered under layers of plasterboard, I’ve kept the flaky utility colour paint of the era. Wood burners complete the cosy original half of my unique home, snuggled up against the brutalist glory of Dungeness nuclear power station.
Out back looking across the beach large windows invite you to gaze at the huge horizon. Open plan birch ply kitchen, original cedar floor and homemade barn door dining table make this perfect place to capture the incredible Dungeness light.
Outside a mix of beach and garden, 3/4 acre surrounded by gorse bushes, and looking out on the lighthouses.
Offering ample off-road parking, garage and catering
Available to hire as a location

"Dungeness, Dungeness, your beauty is the best, forget the hills and valleys. This landscape is like the face you overlook, the face of an angel with a naughty smile."
